Title: Lead Software Engineer (Consultant)

Location: This is a hybrid-based role in Sydney. You must have current working rights in Australia.

About The Role

This is a role for a true full stack developer, where you be involved in projects that cut across a range of digital capabilities, while increasingly incorporating (or leading) AI powered engineering practices or developing AI solutions.

You'll be partnering with our clients to lead the design, build and delivery of bespoke software products and solutions. This role is not just about systems and coding - it’s about asking the right questions, understanding the problem and need, thinking outside the box to scope & shape the work, having good agile and clean code practices, developing strong relationships and collaborating on the bigger picture. You will be hands on the tools, leading small projects & teams, and ultimately driving project delivery outcomes.

About You

You are a true full stack software engineer, and while you have been developing AI solutions, you are still keen to stay across a range of different tech solutions. You will have breadth across various back end, front end and cloud platforms and are adaptable to different client needs - one project might need you to deploy an LLM, and the next project might need you to design a new system and platform features. Whether you've worked in professional services before, or have experience working across multiple projects, you are a natural communicator who loves to understand problems, come up with solutions, and find a way forward.

Tech Skills

• Full-stack software engineer with 8+ years of experience in various back end and front end tech languages such as: Typescript/JavaScript, Node, C#/.net, Kotlin, Python, React, Angular, Vue, React native
• Experience developing and/or deploying AI solutions such as LLMs, RAG, Agents
• Experience in driving AI powered engineering into products and processes
• Commercial experience deploying code into the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Solid level of proficiency in modern architectural practices, with experience designing & implementing solutions from scratch
• Demonstrates autonomy and proficiency in code practices such as CI/CD and TDD
• Good understanding of Agile, understanding its purpose, value and common practices, able to shape and track a backlog pertaining to related tasks

• Leading projects (end to end), collaborating with clients to understand and refine requirements, shaping project milestones and delivery outcomes
• Supporting pre-sales efforts - joining client meetings to understand requirements, working alongside internal stakeholders to identify solutions and participate in proposal and client estimations
• Able to problem solve and identify purposeful solutions, factoring in how to integrate into a wider solution/system
• Able to navigate a range of client environments and adapt to different paces, from the complexity of a large enterprise or influencing in a fast-paced start-up
• Excellent presentation & communication skills
• Ability to quickly adapt to different team needs and paces
• Can navigate through ambiguity and find a way forward
• Collaborate across teams and at all levels of an organisation
• Able to efficiently self manage and coordinate / prioritise tasks and workload
