Position Summary
As a Delivery Project Manager, you will manage end-to-end delivery of data centre construction projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders. Your leadership will ensure projects meet rigorous standards and align seamlessly with operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
General
- Manage data centre construction projects from initiation through handover to Operations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project updates, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders, including senior leadership (Director of Delivery, CDO, Development Board).
- Collaborate with and develop relationships with municipalities and governmental agencies.
- Foster collaboration with internal teams (Operations, Commercial, Sales, Bid) for smooth project integration.
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, identify critical paths, and mitigate risks proactively.
- Ensure timely delivery of all atNorth construction projects.
- Prepare decision-gate approval documents in line with atNorth gating process.
- Oversee procurement phases in compliance with atNorth processes.
- Collaborate with Operations to ensure adherence to change processes.
- Own the project budget and deliver within approved cost plans.
- Manage change processes and seek approvals for claims from Director of Delivery and Commercial Manager.
- Negotiate contracts with contractors/suppliers in collaboration with Commercial Manager and Director of Delivery.
- Produce monthly cash flow forecasts and reports for development projects.
- Champion a “Safety First” culture, ensuring compliance with atNorth HSE standards and local regulations.
- Guarantee projects meet atNorth quality standards and approved designs.
- Ensure commissioning follows atNorth’s standard commissioning plan.
- Prepare and present decision-gate documents for governance compliance.
- Support project board requests, calculations, and schedule projections.
- Collaborate with Bid and Sales teams on future opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders.
- 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager in data centre construction or similar high-stakes industries (pharmaceutical, energy, large-scale manufacturing).
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems.
- Proven track record managing multi-million Euro projects on time and within budget.
- Deep knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and health & safety regulations.
- Proficiency in project scheduling tools (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6) and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent financial acumen in budget management, cost forecasting, and change control.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English and Finnish.
