About The Team And The Role
Join eBay’s Shipping team and help shape the mobile experiences that connect millions of buyers and sellers around the world. This graduate opportunity is ideal for those who have completed their studies within the past 12 months and are ready to launch their career in software engineering.
As an Android Engineer, you’ll work on the Shipping module within the eBay Android app — making it easier for sellers to ship items and for buyers to track their deliveries. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, designers, and product leaders, gaining hands-on experience with Kotlin, GraphQL, and AI-assisted development tools in a supportive and inclusive environment designed to accelerate your growth.
What You Will Accomplish
- Build and ship features for the Shipping module in the eBay Android app, impacting millions of customers globally.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver seamless, user-focused mobile experiences.
- Integrate app components with GraphQL and RESTful services for reliability and performance.
- Use AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity and learn modern coding practices.
- Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and technical discussions to contribute to team excellence.
- Strengthen your expertise in Android architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — ideally completed within the last 12 months.
- Strong understanding of Kotlin and object-oriented programming principles.
- Familiarity with Android SDK and commonly used Jetpack libraries.
- Passion for mobile development and eagerness to learn from experienced engineers.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Bonus: previous Android app development experience through internships or personal projects, and familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools.
