Your new company
Hays has been retained to recruit an Asset Engineer for our client, a leading Cork-based gas transmission company.
Your new role
Your responsibilities include:
- Preparation and generation of (MOP) Maximum Operating Pressure reviews report on high pressure transmission pipelines.
- Supporting the preparation of Design Life Reassessment assessments on transmission pipeline assets approaching the end of design life.
- Extracting various forms of data from several sources and applications/systems.
- Reviewing, assessing and analysing this data and collating the data into reports.
- Engaging, interacting and working with various teams to extract and review this data.
- Knowledge of systems and applications desirable:
- Sharepoint: storage of data.
- Smallworld GIS: mapping of assets
- Maximo: management of assets
- SAP BO: reporting of assets
- SCADA: (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) monitor and control the network.
- Excel: analysis of assets
- Word: reporting of assets
- Utilising the listed systems to extract and compile that data to assess and report on asset performance and integrity and inform the above MOP processes.
- Generating weekly and monthly progress and status update reports.
- Compiling and maintaining a report action and tracker list for each project.
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in Engineering, Science or Equivalent.
- Mechanical Engineering experience advantageous.
- 2 years' post-graduation experience is essential.
- Good and relevant engineering experience.
- A working knowledge of transmission and/or distribution natural gas engineering/network is advantageous.
- Experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and/or Asset Management Systems (e.g. Maximo) would be desirable, in particular, a working knowledge of extracting and analysing data.
- Have good analytical skills and be able to identify and analyse data sets, identify gaps, anomalies and trends and propose potential improvements to the data set.
- Strong report writing and document preparation skills.
