The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) at the University of Luxembourg is an interdisciplinary research centre committed to high-quality research and public dissemination in the field of contemporary history with a particular focus on digital methods and tools.

The C²DH's ambition is to venture off the beaten track and find new ways of doing, teaching and presenting contemporary history of Luxembourg and the history of Europe in the 20th and 21st centuries. It serves as a catalyst for innovative and creative scholarship and new forms of public dissemination.

Your role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR & Legal Assistant to support the Management Office (MO) in a dynamic academic environment. This role combines HR operations, data management, and internal communication, ensuring smooth coordination across teams and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources:

  • Create and manage documentation regarding vacant position as well as contract extensions
  • Maintain and monitor HR data accuracy, create input for meetings, including alignment of new joiners and leavers
  • Serve as the main point of contact for HR-related queries (e.g., contract duration, internal regulations, student management)
  • Organize HR meetings and follow up with HR partner and the MO team
  • Compile and share overviews related to Teaching Units of professors
  • Collaborate with C2DH finance department on the structural HR position plan

Legal:

  • Service contract management

Your profile

  • Experience in HR and LEGAL administration
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with modern office software, content management systems and digital collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, Baserow)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Capacity to meet deadlines and demonstrate methodological, organised, pragmatic and effective approaches to the work
  • Fluent language skills: Fluency in English, French and/or German. Luxemburgish will be considered as an asset
