Mobile Engineering Manager
Location: Barcelona, Spain (Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote)

This role is part of our Mobile Engineering Team, responsible for building next-generation mobile applications for premium global brands. As a Mobile Engineering Manager, you’ll lead and mentor a team of mobile engineers, ensuring the quality, scalability, and performance of our mobile solutions. You will actively participate in technical discussions, drive decision-making, and manage the entire software development lifecycle — from roadmap planning to delivery.
This position follows a hybrid work model based in Barcelona, requiring three (3) days per week in the office and two (2) days working from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and enhance team productivity by effectively delegating tasks, tracking performance, and providing feedback on career growth and progression.
- Lead technical discussions, guide architectural decisions, and contribute to technical planning and execution.
- Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to manage scope, priorities, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Manage the technical aspects of the product roadmap, including bug fixes and small feature implementations when needed.
- Monitor engineering efficiency and process optimization to achieve high-quality, timely releases.
- Participate in recruitment, performance evaluations, and team expansion planning.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the engineering team.
Must-have Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience managing mobile engineering teams.
- Strong technical background in iOS and/or Android native development.
- Hands-on experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose (Android) and/or Swift and SwiftUI (iOS).
- Proficiency in data structures, system design, design patterns, and API design.
- Familiarity with MVP, MVVM, or declarative UI architectures, Git, and DevOps practices.
- Proven ability to drive technical decisions, define scalable architectures, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
- Advanced English level (B2+/C1) with strong communication and leadership skills.
Nice-to-have
- A full-stack background or understanding of backend technologies, cloud services, GraphQL, Firebase, or similar integrations.
- Previous experience working in media, news, or content-driven applications.
- Demonstrated passion for innovation and introducing emerging technologies into product development.
- AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows.
