We are looking for a Product Owner – Daily Banking to drive the strategy, development, and continuous improvement of core daily banking products and services. This includes current accounts, payments, direct debits, standing orders, and other foundational banking functionalities used by retail and business clients. A major focus will be on enhancing the digital experience through our banking app, delivering intuitive and seamless transactional services.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on product leader with a strong grasp of customer needs, regulatory requirements, operational processes, and user experience design, capable of delivering innovative, compliant, and user-friendly solutions across multiple markets.
What You’ll do:
Product Strategy & Vision
- Define and own the product roadmap for daily banking services, aligned with customer needs and company objectives.
- Track trends in customer behavior, payment innovations, and market developments to identify new opportunities.
- Collaborate with leadership and other product teams to align daily banking initiatives with broader business strategies.
- Champion financial inclusion and seamless account access through digital and branch channels.
Digital Banking Experience & UX
- Lead the development and enhancement of daily banking and transactional services within the banking app, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience for customers.
- Collaborate with the operations team to understand the technical aspects of new services, including API integration, and oversee testing and integration within the app.
- Develop and design intuitive and visually appealing UX/UI elements for new services, aligning with the overall app design language and brand identity.
- Work closely with the daily banking owner and product manager(s) to review and approve UX/UI designs, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
- Act as a project manager for the end-to-end development process of new user journeys, from design approval to final launch.
- Conduct thorough testing of new services to identify bugs, inconsistencies, or UX issues, and coordinate with development to address them.
- Continuously iterate on existing user journeys based on user feedback and performance data to enhance customer experience.
Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Ensure daily banking processes are efficient, scalable, and meet risk and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with operations teams to manage backend processes related to account opening, maintenance, and payment services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and customer support, to ensure the successful rollout and adoption of new services in the app.
- Deliver training and coaching to the second-tier support team to enable effective resolution of customer issues.
- Monitor user behavior and engagement within the app to identify opportunities for feature improvement and reduce friction.
Vendor & Development Team Coordination
- Independently oversee the work of external vendors and internal development teams contributing to various aspects of the app.
- Ensure vendor and team deliverables meet quality standards and timeline expectations.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to UX/UI designers and developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Compliance & Market Awareness
- Stay up to date with compliance and security requirements across all markets of the bank’s presence.
- Ensure that all new features and services adhere to local and international regulations and standards.
- Remain informed about market trends and industry developments to proactively integrate innovative features into the app and maintain competitiveness.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product ownership or product management, preferably in banking or fintech.
- Strong knowledge of current accounts, payments, and daily banking infrastructure.
- Proven experience delivering digital banking products and managing UX/UI elements in mobile apps.
- Strong coordination and leadership skills across cross-functional and development teams.
- Experience working with Agile delivery teams and managing product roadmaps end-to-end.
- Analytical mindset with experience in defining KPIs and making data-informed decisions.
- Fluency in English required.
