Job Summary
B&A is looking for a Systems Engineer to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to support the provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on cloud computing technologies and solutions. This role involves providing technical support and guidance, hands-on delivery, and contributing to the planning and implementation of cloud-based systems.

Job Summary
B&A is looking for a Systems Engineer to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to support the provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on cloud computing technologies and solutions. This role involves providing technical support and guidance, hands-on delivery, and contributing to the planning and implementation of cloud-based systems.
Responsibilities
- Provision, install/configure, operate, and maintain cloud and on-premises systems and infrastructure.
- Provide hands-on technical support and guidance during planning and implementation phases.
- Conduct research and development to support innovation and optimization of infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
- Document system specifications, configurations, test plans, and results.
- Communicate project objectives, scope, and status to stakeholders and project teams.
- Depict complex technical ideas and designs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the engineering field.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud).
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows server administration.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Splunk, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

- 8570.01-M Baseline Certification:
- Required (Google Cloud Platform):
- Google Associate Cloud Engineer or
- Google Professional Cloud Architect
- Plus, one of the following:
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Cloud Operations
- Red Hat Certified Engineer
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and modern security models.
- Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and resource management strategies.
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and business continuity.
- Active Secret clearance
