This role is responsible for the design, governance, and optimization of enterprise and terminal-level IT systems, ensuring integration, interoperability, and adherence to corporate standards across Container and General Cargo terminals. The Manager ensures that all technology and architecture initiatives support Noatum Ports’ goals of operational efficiency, business continuity, automation readiness, and sustainability through innovative digital solutions.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of Noatum Ports’ enterprise and terminal IT architecture (network, servers, storage, applications, and cloud environments).
- Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, technology standards, and integration frameworks across terminals.
- Ensure system scalability, performance optimization, and high availability to support 24/7 port operations.
- Establish infrastructure policies and guidelines to maintain consistent and secure deployments across locations.
- Collaborate with Corporate IT, Operations, and Business Units to design and implement digital transformation initiatives (IoT, AI, data analytics, automation).
- Drive architectural readiness for next-generation port technologies such as smart terminal systems, 5G connectivity, and edge computing.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions aligned with Noatum’s digitalization and ESG objectives.
- Define and manage enterprise integration architecture between key systems such as TOS (CATOS, MOST), ERP, Gate Automation, Equipment Control, and Port Community Systems.
- Ensure robust and secure interfaces using APIs, web services, Cloud service management – SaaS, PaaS, IaaS etc..
- Maintain architecture documentation for end-to-end data and system flow across all terminal and corporate platforms.
- Ensure all IT systems comply with corporate cybersecurity policies, data protection regulations, and ISO standards.
- Implement governance models for software deployment, configuration management, and lifecycle control.
- Support internal and external IT audits and ensure continuous compliance with Noatum Ports’ IT governance framework.
- Lead or oversee IT infrastructure and application rollout projects across terminals, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
- Coordinate with local terminal IT teams, vendors, and contractors for project execution.
- Manage project budgets, procurement, and vendor performance aligned with corporate policies.
- Develop and maintain standardized architecture templates, reference models, and deployment frameworks for all terminals.
- Provide technical guidance and support to local IT teams for implementation, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for system architectures, configurations, and network diagrams.
- Collaborate with TOS, Cybersecurity, and Enterprise IT teams for unified technology delivery and governance.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and the NP HQ and conduct regular review meetings.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Work Interfaces:
- Experience: Port & Marine Terminals, Logistics IT Infra. background
- Experience in implementing Ports/terminal IT Infra & NW projects and startup experience along with EPC/construction phase.
- Experience in TOS related IT Infra Systems including IT Infrastructure & Networks sizing; Operations Systems (TOS, & GOS) and Enterprise Systems (ERP,EAMS & CRM) for design integrations
- Proven network in the Port and Marine Terminals Industry
- Change Management Process and Enhancement activities
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in IT infrastructure, architecture design, or enterprise systems management.
- At least 5 years in managerial or lead architectural roles within Ports, Logistics, or Industrial environments.
- Proven experience in designing or managing hybrid IT environments (on-premises and cloud).
- Strong technical knowledge of TOS and Automation systems and related Infrastructure, Networking and Cybersecurity framework
- Certifications in Enterprise Architecture (TOGAF, Zachman), Cloud Technologies (Azure/AWS), or Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) are highly desirable.
- Experience in managing IT Budget and ensuring that spending is within budgetary constraints
- Strong expertise and Knowledge of Port/Terminal IT Infrastructure
- Knowledge and experience in Virtualization and Hypervisor
- Deep understanding of enterprise IT architecture, networking, and cloud solutions.
- Expertise in system integrations, APIs, middleware, and data management.
- Strong analytical, planning, and solution design skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and vendor management abilities.
- Proficiency in IT governance frameworks, cybersecurity standards, and audit compliance.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to business terms.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of additional languages is a plus. (Arabic / Spanish)
