Human Resources Generalist
Key Accountabilities/activities
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented and bilingual HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team!
This versatile role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence across all core HR functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and driving HR initiatives related to talent acquisition, policy updates and compliance, certification processes, performance management, and employee engagement. We are seeking a collaborative team player who is comfortable navigating change, managing multiple priorities, and working in complex environments.
This position will be based in our Saint-Laurent (Qc) or Mississauga (ON) office. The work schedule is 35 hours per week and requires in-office presence 3x per week.
This position reports to the Human Resources Manager.
Main Responsibilities Include
- Lead and support full-cycle recruitment strategies: Partner with hiring managers to manage the recruitment process from job posting through onboarding. This includes developing job descriptions, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, drafting offers, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience while upholding a strong employer brand.
- Responsible for creating, revising, and implementing HR policies and procedures in accordance with evolving legislation, best practices, and organizational goals. This includes ensuring all updates are reflected accurately in internal systems, communicated effectively to employees and management, and followed through with proper training and compliance checks.
- Coordinate and deliver employee training sessions and communication plans related to HR initiatives-related.
- Maintain compliance with governmental regulations and certifications, including overseeing and managing programs such as Great Place to Work, CQIF, Pay Equity and other government-mandated documentation or initiatives.
- Prepare and submit documentation to external agencies, manage survey distribution and analysis, and ensure deadlines and eligibility criteria are met.
- Manage the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, tracking progress, and supporting continuous feedback and coaching initiatives.
- Support HR projects and initiatives such as employee engagement programs, HR system upgrades, change management efforts, and organizational development activities.
- Support the development and implementation of DEI strategies, including coordinating internal communications and training initiatives that promote an inclusive workplace, and tracking diversity metrics to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
- Promote a culture of trust, collaboration, and high performance across the organization.
- Comply with the organization’s environmental, health & safety, recycling, sustainability efforts and quality assurance policies and standards.
- All other related tasks and projects.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant HR role, including exposure to policy development, talent acquisition, and performance management.
- Bachelor’s degree, certificate or diploma in human resources management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using an HRIS system (Dayforce, SuccessFactors, etc)
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities in both English and French* (written and spoken)
- High level of discretion and integrity with confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
