We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET/C# Engineer to join a London-based technology team supporting core systems for a leading hedge fund / asset management environment. This individual will play a key role in developing and enhancing critical applications that support Treasury, Operations, Accounting, or Compliance functions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in object-oriented programming and the ability to work in close collaboration with business users and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, high-performance applications using .NET (C#) and related technologies.
- Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements across Treasury, Operations, Accounting, or Compliance domains and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Enhance and support existing systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Participate in architectural discussions and provide input on system design and integration.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance and data workflows.
- Work closely with other engineers to ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the full development lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience with .NET (C#) and strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
- Proven ability to design and implement complex, enterprise-grade applications.
- Experience working within financial services, preferably at a hedge fund or asset manager, with exposure to at least one of the following areas:
- Treasury: Margin, financing costs, optimization, locates
- Operations: Post-trade reconciliations, affirmations, break resolutions, dispute process, allocations
- Accounting or Compliance systems and workflows
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities; comfortable working closely with business stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Blazor or DevExpress for front-end/UI development.
- Familiarity with cloud-based architectures or microservices environments.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
