Job Description / Functions
- Analyze, design, configure and fix issues with the network structure or application modules.
- The role of a network engineer is to make sure that communications function through the network is uninterrupted and that the network’s performance sees the urgent requests.
- The NetActuate network spans hundreds of POP(s) and thousands of peers.
- You will be comfortable working with a global, distributed team of network experts.
- Identification, notification, and escalation of network issues. Document cause analysis and offer solutions to prevent future network outages
- Install, configure and monitor essential network security protocols
- We make use of slack, zoom, whatsapp and Skype for internal and external communication and you are expected to be available during your expected work hours. You may be required to work additional hours to continue work on projects, or during schedules that do not impact customer use of infrastructure.
- Responsible for initial triage, escalation, and resolution of customer issues. Ensure that communications function across the network architecture and that the network’s performance meets client requirements
- Continued communication with customers to ensure customer support SLAs are met/exceeded
- Responsible for working with peers, deploying new sites/links, traffic balancing, etc.
- Configure effective routing policies and procedures and reconfigure policies to ensure the best performance
- Have ability to escalate issues to senior engineers or management
- Communicate to remote datacenter facilities to facilitate remote hands operations to resolve customer issues
- Provide situational awareness to the team through email and chat communications
