Golang Engineer – Build the Data Layer for an AI Analyst

Up to £85K + 1.5% Equity

An early-stage UK-based AI startup (fresh off a seed raise) is hiring a Senior Golang Engineer to help build the data backbone of their product: an AI-powered BI Analyst that allows non-technical users to perform complex analysis, create dynamic dashboards, and trigger operational actions in minutes, not days.

This is a role for engineers who love building systems from the ground up, solving complex data challenges, and shaping real product direction.

What You’ll Build

You’ll own the development of the core Data Layer, the system that connects to customer data sources, ingests, structures, and models data, and makes it fully AI-ready. Expect technical work across:

• Data ingestion pipelines
• Data cataloging, modeling & metadata layer design
• High-performance data access interfaces for an AI agent
• Backend architecture, infra, CI/CD & multi-cloud deployments (GCP/AWS/Azure)

Tech Stack

• Golang-first backend
• Some Python & TypeScript services (SQL optimisation, headless workloads)
• Multi-cloud deployment flexibility (GCP, AWS, Azure)

What They’re Looking For

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Strong experience with Go (or other type-safe languages: Rust, Java, C++)
• Deep SQL and data storage expertise
• Someone who enjoys end-to-end ownership: architecture → infra → ops
• Comfortable working closely with founders and wearing multiple hats

Bonus: Having experience with event-driven architectures, ML/data modeling, or complex ingestion systems.

Location & Flexibility

The team has an office in London, depending on where you leave in the UK we are happy to have you only come in once a month.
