What We Offer
You will become a member of an agile development team with great team spirit, the Software Download (SWDL) Dev team. The team is responsible for designing and verifying Software Download technologies. The team is also developing (in C++) the One SWDL Engine, which is one common SW module to be used for SWDL in many areas such as development testing, vehicle implementation (in Volvo Cars new Core System Platform), production and at aftermarket. You’ll collaborate across multiple system areas within the vehicle, including customer service and manufacturing, gaining exposure to a wide range of technical challenges and solutions. The SWDL team is part of the agile release train Common Base Technology, which forms the fundament for all electronic control units in the entire electrical system. Our mission is to enable common solutions for developing departments within R&D to align for complexity reduction, cost and increased speed.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will use your deep expertise in C++ to develop the core software component, the One SWDL Engine. You will play a key role in driving Volvo’s vision of seamless software downloads and updates for our vehicles, enabling enhanced functionality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Who You Are
You are a skilled software engineer with a strong background in C++ development and a passion for solving complex challenges in a dynamic and innovative environment. You have the interest and experience in creating software architecture and technical road maps. You enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues while continuously learning from others.
For this position a minimum of 5 years’ experience with C++, Linux and GIT is required. Experience with other areas such as Python, C, Gerrit, Jenkins, Android, DoIP, software testing and CI is considered a plus.
You are driven by customer focus you get things done. You are committed to delivering high-quality results and you can proceed your work without having all facts at hand before you start. You are flexible and have excellent communication and documentation skills. You are a team player with a positive attitude and thrive in collaborative environments.
You have experience with agile development and familiar with software development best practices. You are fluent in English and can communicate effectively with all types of stakeholders. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, recognizing that there are often multiple solutions to a problem.
We believe you have a M.Sc or B.Sc degree in Software Development, Software Engineering or equivalent.
