Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack (m/w/d)

As our first in-house Software Engineer, you will lay the foundation for an outstanding engineering team that delivers a groundbreaking health product to our users, empowering them to take ownership of their health and allowing them to lead healthier, longer lives.


You will have a strong impact on the engineering culture we build at aeon as well as the foundational architecture of our products.


In the beginning, your focus will be on an application that breaks down complex health data into actionable insights for our users, with flexibility on how your role evolves from there.


Tasks

  • Lead the development of our customer application end-to-end.

  • Implement a truly delightful user experience

  • Drive technical decisions and architecture choices

  • Collaborate directly with the company leadership to develop and translate product vision into technical reality

  • Mentor future team members and help build our engineering culture

  • Take full ownership of large and complex features from conception to deployment


Requirements

  • You are based in Zurich / Winterthur or surroundings, or you are eager to relocate

  • 8+ years of experience with full-stack software engineering

  • Substantial experience working with the technologies in our tech stack: frontend development with react.js and/or vue.js (we will unify this soon), backend development with node.js (Express), hosting on AWS

  • Overall strong expertise in modern web technologies and frameworks

  • A strong interest in the way our users perceive the software you ship and how it performs at addressing their needs and pain points

  • A mindset of feeling comfortable in ambiguity, in a place with quickly shifting priorities quickly while maintaining a high degree of organization

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps

  • A track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring others

  • A passion for health technology and improving people's lives

  • It is a big plus if you have worked in the space of medical software or other highly regulated areas before

  • Proficiency in English
