Network Engineer (WAN)

We're seeking a highly skilled WAN Network Engineer to assist with the deployment of Quality of Service (QoS) across key sections of our enterprise WAN. This is a strategic role focused on optimizing traffic prioritization and performance across multi-vendor infrastructure. Initial scope includes three WAN links, with expansion planned.

Daily Duties

• Design and implement QoS policies across Cisco routers and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Analyze WAN traffic patterns to identify prioritization needs and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align QoS configurations with business-critical applications.
• Document QoS strategies, configurations, and change management procedures.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and remediation for QoS-related issues.
• Advise on scalable QoS architecture for future WAN expansion.

Skills Required

• Proven experience deploying QoS on various Cisco router models (ISR, ASR, etc.).
• Strong hands-on expertise with QoS configuration on Palo Alto firewall platforms.
• Deep understanding of traffic shaping, policing, classification, and marking techniques.
• Ability to interpret and apply QoS best practices in complex enterprise environments.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills across Layer 2/3 WAN technologies and QoS mechanisms.
