About the Project

Starship Crafter is a sci-fi ship-building and management game currently in production for PC/Steam.

We are expanding the team to bring a high-level 2D artist who can define and elevate the visual identity of the game both in marketing art and in-game assets.

We are NOT looking for a basic illustrator.

We are looking for someone who can create polished, cinematic, production-ready sci-fi artwork.

Role Summary

You will create all key 2D visuals for the game, including:

  • Steam capsule art (Main Capsule, Vertical, Hero Assets)
  • High-quality game icon
  • 2D character designs (portraits, workers, droids, sci-fi crew)
  • UI icons, indicators, symbol sets
  • Paint-over/photobash-based materials for characters, props, and promotional banners

Your work will directly affect the game’s public image on Steam and all promotional channels.

Responsibilities1. High-Quality Key Art & Capsule Illustration
  • Create polished Steam store capsule artworks with professional composition, clarity, and branding.

3. Photobashing & Modern Concept Art Techniques
  • Combine real-world photos, textures, and 3D blockouts to achieve fast, realistic, sci-fi quality.
  • Use advanced Photoshop workflows: masks, blend modes, adjustment layers, texture blending.
4. Asset Preparation for Unity
  • Deliver clean PSDs and exported sprites with proper resolution, pivot, and naming.
  • Ensure artwork is optimized and production-ready.
Requirements
