CrowdBuilding empowers communities to build homes together. Our platform supports community-led housing initiatives through the entire journey.

You’ll join a tight-knit product team of 2 Software Engineers, 1 Designer, and 1 Product Manager – learning directly from experienced colleagues in a supportive, fast-moving environment.

The Role

As a Junior Engineer, you’ll work across the full stack using modern TypeScript tooling. You don’t need to know everything yet — what matters most is your foundation, curiosity, and eagerness to grow.

By the time you join, our new platform built on Based will be live, giving you the chance to work with a clean, modern architecture and contribute to new features right away.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop user-facing components with React.js and TypeScript.
  • Support backend development in Node.js with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Learn how to work with Based, our realtime graph database.
  • Help keep our modern, low-debt codebase clean and scalable.
  • Participate in pair programming, code reviews, and feature planning.
  • Work with GitHub, GitHub Actions, CloudFlare, and S3 to understand end-to-end deployments.
  • Experiment with and apply AI-assisted development tools to improve quality and efficiency.

What You Bring
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience (projects are welcome).
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals.
  • Some exposure to React or Node.js, even if just through coursework.
  • Curiosity about software architecture, modern tooling, and learning new technologies.
  • Interest in AI tools and how they can support development.
  • A collaborative attitude and willingness to ask questions and iterate.
