Job Title
Product Design Internship (Graduation) – Philips Avent
Your Role
Every great idea starts with a sketch — and the courage to make it real.
At Philips Avent, we design meaningful innovations that make life better for parents and babies around the world. Within our Research, Design & Advanced Development team in Amsterdam & Eindhoven, we explore what’s next: the ideas, experiences, and technologies that will define baby care in the next 10 years. We’re looking for a curious, empathetic, and technically skilled design student with strong design and sketching skills who wants to help shape the future of baby care. You’ll work alongside our designers and engineers to visualize, prototype, and test new product ideas — from first sketches to early consumer feedback. This internship is perfect for a design student who loves to combine user-centered creativity, hands-on making, and strategic thinking — and who’s not afraid to experiment with new tools like AI, 3D CAD, and rendering to bring ideas to life fast.
- Collaborate with experience designers and engineers to create, visualize and prototype early product concepts.
- Dive curiously into our users' worlds to understand their challenges and translate those insights into valuable ideas driven by empathy
- Support front-end innovation projects, turning ideas into tangible experiences we can test with consumers.
- Create compelling visualizations and mockups that communicate product ideas clearly and inspire discussion.
- Explore future scenarios and vision concepts that imagine where Philips Avent could be in 10 years.
- Use and experiment with creative tools — from 3D CAD and rendering to generative AI and video storytelling.
- Help us test, iterate, and refine ideas quickly in the front-end funnel.
- You’re studying Industrial or Product Design at Bachelor’s or Master’s level
- You love the intersection of design, technology, and user experience.
- Experience or curiosity with tools like SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, KeyShot, Blender, or similar.
- An interest in (future) trends and visual storytelling (e.g. rendering, animation, or short video creation).
- Eager to explore AI-powered creative tools for concept generation or visualization.
- Strong sketching and ideation skills — and a drive to make ideas tangible.
- A collaborative, hands-on, and proactive attitude.
A great opportunity to gain experience within a high-performing team. You will gain insight into significant events within Royal Philips. You will work in a team, which cooperates closely and there will be many learning and development opportunities.
Next to that, we are offering a decent internship package:
- Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata.
- Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the landlord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours.
- Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192,- net.
- Paid holidays per internship term.
- The opportunity to buy Philips equipment at our Philips shop.
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
