Reporting to the VP, IT Operations, the UX Designer has the opportunity to join a dynamic team focused on driving business success through contemporary user-centric designs and meaningful experiences.

Here is where you will be focusing to ensure your success.

  • As a member of the UX team, provide both highly analytical and creative ideas in directing the visual appearance and functionality of all new features and enhancements on our software applications.
  • Work with the Manager, User Experience to initiate, suggest, and spearhead major UI re-factorings for a more intuitive user-experience.
  • Support the Manager, User Experience in designing elegant solutions to complex workflows. Design things that people will talk about.
  • Act as the user-advocate during the development process, subjecting early-stage designs to usability testing or expert review, and offering implementation suggestions from a user-centered perspective.
  • With the Manager, User Experience, act as “go to” with in-depth knowledge of user interface best practices and standards.
  • Use research-related services, theories and methods to support recommendations.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, behavioral specifications, and personas.
  • Design with accessibility in mind, ensuring our products are inclusive and usable by all.
  • Support the organization through UX changes.
  • Research interaction design and technology trends to ensure optimal user and customer experience across our core platforms.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For.

  • Post-secondary education in Design, Engineering, Business or Information Technology with emphasis on user experience.
  • Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills and sketchbook technique.
  • Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in design techniques such as wireframing, task analysis, sketching, prototyping as well as strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, other associated design tools.
  • Working knowledge of leading UX tools such as Figma and AdobeXD.
  • Experience in various research techniques such as personas, qualitative research methods (usability testing, in-depth interviews), quantitative methods (A/B testing, statistics analysis) etc.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to exchange complex information with a non-technical audience.
  • Understanding of common software project management & software development practices.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytical thinking, problem solving, planning, and organization.
  • Experience designing data-rich interfaces, dashboards, or systems that incorporate automation or intelligent suggestions.
  • The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication.

This position requires work from our Oakville office but offers a flexible hybrid work model that allows employees to work remotely from their home office.
