Job Description
As the Solutions Architect, you will be the planner and builder of our digital transformation foundation. You will design, implement, and govern a secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure that empowers digital transformation. You will enable the seamless flow of data from operational sites to advanced analytics platforms, ensuring our teams have the tools and environment they need to innovate at speed while maintaining the highest standards of security and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
• Cloud Strategy: Develop and execute the enterprise-wide cloud strategy working with the Lead Enterprise Architect, including decisions on public, private, and hybrid models (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Solution Architecture: Design and deploy cloud-native solutions for new digital products and platforms. Architect migration strategies for critical legacy applications and data sources.
• Security & Compliance: Embed security into every layer of the cloud architecture ("security by design"). Ensure all solutions comply with industry regulations and internal governance policies, particularly critical to OT systems.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Champion and implement IaC practices using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to create automated, repeatable, and auditable environments.
• Networking & Connectivity: Design robust and secure network architectures to connect remote LNG facilities, corporate offices, and cloud environments, ensuring high availability and low latency for real-time data.
• Cost Management (FinOps): Develop and manage a cloud financial management framework to optimize costs, forecast budgets, and ensure a clear return on investment.
• Technical Governance: Establish cloud best practices, design patterns, and standards to be used by all development and data teams.
Qualifications & Skills
• Education: Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: 10+ years in IT infrastructure, with at least 5+ years in a dedicated cloud architecture role.
• Industry Experience: Experience in the energy sector or another critical infrastructure industry is highly desirable. Proven experience bridging the gap between IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments is a significant advantage.
• Technical Skills:
o Expert-level certification in at least one major cloud platform (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect).
o Deep, hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation).
o Strong proficiency with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
o In-depth knowledge of cloud security principles, identity and access management (IAM), and network security controls.
o Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership and influencing skills, ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, strategic thinking, and a passion for automation and efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
• Proven experience architecting solutions across multiple cloud providers (multi-cloud).
• Deep understanding of OT security frameworks (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443).
• Advanced certifications in cloud networking or security.
• Knowledge of edge computing architectures and deploying solutions in remote, low-bandwidth environments.
