As a remote contractor, you will collaborate directly with the founder to design, build, and optimize features that deliver measurable value to customers. This role offers significant ownership over key product components, involvement in technical decision-making, and the opportunity to shape the direction of a growing SaaS platform. The tech stack includes Python 3.12, Django, Airflow, MongoDB, Next.js, TypeScript, Pulumi, AWS ECS, and GitHub. You will work on backend services, data pipelines, API design, workflow orchestration, and modern frontend interfaces. The team operates remotely with agile practices, and values proactive communication, problem-solving, and a strong sense of ownership.

Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and optimize backend services using Python, Django, and Airflow
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models with MongoDB
- Develop and enhance frontend interfaces with Next.js and TypeScript
- Collaborate on API design and integration for B2B applications
- Manage cloud infrastructure using Pulumi and AWS ECS
- Participate in workflow orchestration and performance tuning
- Contribute to technical decisions and product direction in a small, agile team
- Maintain code quality and best practices using GitHub
- Communicate effectively and be available for collaboration during core Pacific Time hours (10am - 3pm)
- Proven experience as a full stack developer, ideally in a startup or contract environment
- Strong proficiency in Python, Django, and modern JavaScript frameworks (Next.js, TypeScript)
- Experience with data pipeline development, workflow orchestration, and large-scale data processing
- Familiarity with MongoDB, Airflow, Pulumi, AWS ECS, and cloud-based infrastructure
- Solid understanding of API design, integration, and performance optimization
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive projects to completion
- Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive communication
- Comfortable working remotely and collaborating in a distributed team
- Availability during core Pacific Time business hours
- Experience with B2B SaaS platforms and performance tuning is a plus
