Software Engineer (AI Product)

Location: Sydney (Hybrid)

Checkbox recently received a $2M injection from Sequoia to take their beta AI tool to production — and this is your chance to be part of that journey.


What You’ll Do


• Collaborate in a small, cross-functional product team with engineers, designers, and product managers

• Contribute to the design and implementation of new features across the stack (front-end, back-end, and AI integrations)

• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews and technical discussions

• Support the continuous improvement of engineering practices, quality, and velocity

• Stay curious about new technologies and contribute ideas to improve the product and user experience


What You’ll Bring

• Around 2-5 years of experience building and maintaining web-based software products

• Experience with React, TypeScript, Node.js or Python

• Familiarity with databases (SQL), APIs, and cloud environments such as AWS

• An interest in AI technologies and a willingness to learn how to apply them in real products

• A collaborative mindset — you enjoy working in a team and contributing to shared goals

• A pragmatic, curious approach — you care about solving real problems and delivering value quickly
