The Access to Rights in the Caribbean: Equality, Non-Discrimination, Citizenship and Empowerment through Law (ARCENCiEL) project implemented by LWB Canada in Commonwealth Caribbean countries, focusing on Dominica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Belize. LWB Canada is seeking to hire a consultant for an initial contract that could transition to a salary and benefits package once LWB Canada is fully registered in a Caribbean country.As part of this Project Coordinator consultancy, the consultant will be responsible for project implementation in the project countries (Dominica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, and Belize). They coordinate project implementation, monitoring and reporting, and supervise the project team. In this role, the consultant will be required to perform tasks of a legal, programmatic, administrative, logistical, and financial nature.
Ensures the implementation of the project in compliance with budgets, contractual agreements, policies, and procedures in force, as well as the organization's strategic orientations;
Is responsible for achieving project results in alignment with LWB Canada’s theory of change;
Participates in the recruitment and integration of additional local contractors;
Contributes to the installation of LWB Canada's offices and ensures their effective operation;
Is responsible for the financial management and budget monitoring of the project;
Collaborates with the project manager on timely project monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and planning of project activities and results;
Is responsible for supporting and mobilizing partners to achieve project objectives;
Supervises the organization and implementation of capacity-building activities and provides technical advice in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Result-Based Management, financial reporting, amongst other aspects, to partners and the LWB Canada team;
Ensures fluid, proactive, and effective communication between project team members in the Caribbean and with the program management team at headquarters;
Provides a conciliatory and problem-solving role to ensure efficient operations and processes;
Contributes to the analysis of the situation and context in the countries of intervention and broader Caribbean region, and to the formulation of intervention strategies;
Is responsible for security, including developing and ensuring compliance with security plans and procedures, monitoring the security situation, and analyzing and making recommendations;
Represents LWB Canada, develops and maintains relations with authorities, ministries, partners, donors, other stakeholders, and collaborators from civil society, the legal sector, and international cooperation, and participates in networking activities;
Ensures and coordinates the project's visibility and public communications, both in general and with partners and the donor;
Participates in the identification of project opportunities, their strategic monitoring, and the drafting of technical proposals;
And, in general, performs any other related tasks as requested by the organization.

Qualifications
University degree in law, human rights, international development, project management, or a related discipline;
Experience in international cooperation, and gender equality in the Commonwealth Caribbean context;
More than 6 years of relevant professional experience;
Experience in team coordination and networking with local civil society organizations;
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, initiative, rigor and resourcefulness;
Ability to adapt to sometimes difficult situations and working conditions (including travel in the region, flexible hours, limited resources, logistical difficulties, working under pressure, etc.);
Mastery of basic computer tools (Word, Excel, Outlook);
Strong teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary context, leadership, interpersonal skills, strategic vision, and political acumen;
Absolute respect for confidentiality.
