POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who will own and lead all aspects of our infrastructure, networking, security, monitoring, and deployment pipelines. This is a high-impact role where you will have full technical authority over our cloud environment and production systems, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and secure.

Your Impact Zone

  • Architect, deploy, and manage scalable, highly available systems primarily on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, ECS, EKS, Lambda, etc.)
  • Own IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
  • Manage VPC configurations, routing, load balancing, and secure connectivity between environments
  • Oversee cost optimization for cloud resources
  • Design and maintain secure networking architectures, including VPNs, peering connections, and private links to partners/banks
  • Manage DNS, firewalls, WAF, and CDN configurations
  • Implement and maintain security hardening, encryption (at rest & in transit), and access controls in compliance with fintech security regulations
  • Conduct regular security audits and penetration test coordination
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for backend services, APIs, and mobile applications (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent
  • Automate testing, deployment, rollback, and scaling processes
  • Implement blue/green and canary deployment strategies
  • Implement end-to-end observability (metrics, logs, tracing) using tools like Grafana, ELK/EFK, Datadog, or New Relic
  • Maintain real-time alerting and escalation systems for uptime and performance monitoring
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reporting
  • Build dashboards for system health, transaction processing latency, and error rates
  • Design and maintain disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) strategies
  • Manage automated backups, replication, and tested restoration processes
  • Ensure systems meet industry compliance requirements (ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.)
  • Work closely with frontend, backend, mobile, and QA teams to ensure smooth deployments
  • Be the go-to owner for infrastructure-related decisions and escalations


Your Toolkit for the Role

  • 4+ years of DevOps/SRE experience, preferably in fintech or other high-availability systems
  • Expert-level knowledge of AWS (or GCP/Digital Ocean with strong AWS cross-over experience)
  • Strong skills in Linux system administration
  • Expertise with Terraform or equivalent IaC tools
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
  • Proficient in CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.)
  • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, routing, load balancing)
  • Deep understanding of monitoring/alerting tools and logging stacks
  • Proven track record in designing secure, compliant systems for financial data
  • Strong scripting/programming skills in Bash, Python, or Go
  • Bilingual (French & English) is a plus with a major focus on English
  • Experience with PCI DSS and other fintech compliance frameworks
  • Knowledge of message queues and streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS)
  • Experience with multi-region, active-active cloud architectures
  • Exposure to cross-border payment systems or financial transaction processing
