Data Scientist (Ireland)

Job Type: Permanent (preferred), contract, or contract-to-perm

Seniority: Mid-Senior

Salary: €70-110K (DOE)

Working Pattern: Hybrid


Role:

One of our healthcare consultancy clients is looking for a data scientist to join a growing Data & Analytics function in southern Ireland. This role involves working closely with public and private healthcare stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions that drive system improvement and strategic insight.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop demand & capacity models to support operational planning and strategic development
  • Design and implement simulation models to test operational scenarios and recommend optimised workflows or resource allocations
  • Provide population health analytics, segmenting patient populations, analysing unmet need, and identifying risk/opportunity
  • Translate technical analysis into clear, non-technical recommendations for senior stakeholders (e.g. healthcare executives, operations leads)
  • Lead workshops and engage with clients to understand requirements and create roadmaps
  • Support business development: contribute to proposals, strategy development, and client pitches with data-driven insights


Required Skills/Experience:

  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Systems Biology, Physics (or relevant background)
  • Strong programming skills (Python)
  • Understanding of Irish healthcare systems (public and private sector)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills: ability to translate technical content into business insight
  • Consulting mindset with experience working with non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and mentor junior team members
