Digital Assets Security Engineer


Salary - €80-90k + 20-40% Bonus + Benefits

Location – Amsterdam (required in office 3 days per week; can provide relocation)



I’m currently working with a major Prop-Trading firm who are looking to hire a Security Engineer with experience, knowledge and understanding of DeFi protocols, blockchain infrastructure and wallet-related security risks.


You will be responsible for ensuring the Digital Assets arm of their business remains secure, maintaining and improving the security of their wallet infrastructure, leading risk assessments of smart-contracts and DeFi protocols, leading in crypto/blockchain related threat intelligence gathering and leading the investigations to incidents around their digital asset systems/platforms.


This is a pivotal role sitting in the fastest growing area of their business, working with the wider Security, Platform and Blockchain Engineering departments to ensure they are secured; a genuine opportunity to shape how a major financial markets organization defends against a new and rapidly evolving threat landscape.



Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, Analyse and Respond to protocol vulnerabilities, DeFi exploits, walled related risks and other crypto-related threats.
  • Run threat intelligence gathering activities related to emerging threat actors in the crypto space and lead proactive threat hunting campaigns against these.
  • Evaluate, integrate and deploy relevant tooling for on-chain monitoring, smart-contract auditing and anomaly detection.
  • Work with wider Security, Platform and Engineering departments to promote secure development practices and secure deployment of contracts and crypto/digital asset tools.


Key Requirements

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in a dedicated Blockchain/Crypto security capacity; or a strong interest and knowledge of the related concepts.
  • Exposure to and familiarity with blockchain basics – digital wallets, smart contract platforms and languages, transaction mechanics and public/private key cryptography.
  • Understanding and knowledge of common crypto threats like rug pulls, reentrancy, flash loan attacks, private key leakage, etc.
  • Professional engineering experience and hands-on scripting/programming to automate tasks in various languages (Python, Rust, JavaScript).
