Full-timeRemote FriendlyProduct Management

Barnebys is the world’s leading search engine and marketplace for art, antiques, collectibles, and design. Every month, millions of users turn to Barnebys and our sister brands to discover, value, and purchase unique objects from auction houses and dealers around the world. Our mission is to make the world of special objects accessible to everyone.

We are now looking for a Senior Product Manager to accelerate growth and improve the experience of our marketplace users. This is a role with significant ownership, visibility, and impact.

What you’ll focus on initially

Your primary focus will be on the Barnebys marketplace, with an emphasis on improving:

  • User activation: ensuring new users understand the value of Barnebys and take meaningful actions.
  • User retention: increasing return usage and creating habits through better discovery, alerts, saved searches, personalization, and relevance.

How your scope will expand

As we drive measurable impact in activation and retention, your role will broaden to include:

  • User acquisition in close collaboration with our new Growth Marketing Manager (to be hired).
  • Monetization & product lines: developing new revenue-generating features and improving existing ones.
  • Owning a second product: you will take over and run the ValueMyStuff marketplace end-to-end, including product experience and P&L responsibility.
  • Team leadership: lead up to two engineering teams and a product designer. Create clarity, focus, and momentum.

You will be responsible for product outcomes, not just output. You’ll set the direction of your product, define KPIs, set goals, build the roadmap, and continuously learn from data and customers.

What you’ll do

  • Define and execute the product strategy for your areas, balancing business needs with user value.
  • Identify user problems through data, research, and experimentation.
  • Drive measurable improvements in activation, retention, and monetization
  • Prioritize work and guide the engineering and design teams toward meaningful outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with growth, content, sales, marketing, and auction house partners.
  • Contribute to company-wide planning and shaping both short- and long-term direction.

Who you are

You’ll thrive here if:

  • You are a self-starter. You don’t wait for someone to point you in a direction; you figure out what needs to happen and make it happen.
  • You are data-driven but also have strong product sense. You know when the numbers tell a story and when they’re only part of the picture.
  • You have experience working on marketplaces, content discovery, search, or ecommerce products.
  • You’re comfortable moving between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
  • You get energy from working closely with cross-functional partners and helping your team do their best work.
  • You care about building experiences people actually love, not just features.

What you bring

  • Experience in product management in a marketplace, consumer-facing platform, or growth-orientated environment.
  • A track record of improving activation, engagement, or retention through product changes.
  • Ability to design and run experiments and make decisions from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional product teams (formally or informally).
  • We see a major opportunity to use AI to improve discovery, relevance, valuation, and personalization across the marketplace, and you will play a key role in shaping how we make this real.
