We are looking for an Accessibility Test Engineer with 6 – 9 years of experience in accessibility testing, automation, and quality assurance. You will be responsible for ensuring that digital applications meet accessibility standards and are usable by all users, including those with disabilities. The role involves performing manual and automated accessibility testing, collaborating with development and UX teams for remediation, and integrating accessibility checks into automation frameworks across web and mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
· Analyze accessibility requirements, user stories, and design specifications to identify accessibility compliance needs and test scope.
· Perform manual accessibility testing of web, desktop and mobile applications (iOS only) using tools and assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack and ensure it is compliant with WCAG 2.2 (A/AA) standards.
· Log accessibility defects with clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behavior, and recommendations for remediation.
· Participate in defect triage meetings to discuss accessibility issues with development and UX teams and verify fixes post-remediation.
· Coordinate with developers and designers to provide actionable feedback and ensure timely defect closure.
· Prepare and share daily/weekly status reports highlighting test progress, defect trends, and compliance score improvements.
· Ensure proper documentation of test results and maintain an Accessibility Test Summary Report at the end of each cycle.
· Conduct test closure activities, including metrics analysis, lessons learned, and accessibility compliance sign-off.
· Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance accessibility testing coverage and automation.
· Collaborate with UI/UX, development, and QA teams to drive accessibility best practices and remediation.
· Support UI and API automation testing using Selenium with Java/Playwright/Any other automation framework to ensure overall product quality.
· Provide accessibility compliance reports and assist in preparing conformance documentation.
· Participate in sprint ceremonies, reviews, and planning sessions as part of Agile teams.
· Mentor and support QA teams in accessibility awareness and testing techniques.
· Automation is good to have. Develop and maintain automated accessibility test scripts using tools such as Axe, Accessibility Insights, Lighthouse, or similar frameworks.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· 6 - 9 years of experience in software testing, with at least 4+ years in accessibility testing.
· Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 or WCAG 2.2, ARIA guidelines, and accessibility testing methodologies.
· Hands-on experience with assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack).
· Familiarity with automated accessibility testing tools (Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, Accessibility Insights).
· Proficiency in UI automation using Selenium with Java/Playwright/Another automation tool.
· Experience in API testing and automation (e.g., using RestAssured, Postman, or Playwright API).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
· Good communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional coordination.
· Accessibility certification (e.g., CPACC, WAS, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
· Ability to drive quality strategy, manage risks, and ensure delivery timelines.
