Backed by top-tier investors, the team recently raised significant funding to create a non-custodial perpetuals platform where users truly own their assets while still experiencing lightning-fast execution.

The exchange is already gaining traction, achieving milestones in trading volume faster than many established competitors.

The Opportunity

They’re seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help scale the backend of a real-money, 24/7 trading system. You’ll focus on building and maintaining the API platform that powers a high-performance trading environment.

This role is ideal for someone who not only knows Go (Golang) and AWS, but also understands what it means to run public or partner-facing APIs at scale — with clean versioning, great documentation, and strong reliability. You’ll own the entire API lifecycle: from design and release strategy to developer experience and performance monitoring.

What You’ll Do

• Own backend feature development from design to deployment in production.
• Design and implement scalable, low-latency services in Go within AWS environments.
• Build and maintain APIs supporting high-frequency trading and external integrations such as market makers.
• Optimize performance for throughput, stability, and fault tolerance in real-time environments.
• Contribute to a hybrid architecture bridging centralized trading systems with on-chain custody.
• Implement monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and AWS X-Ray.
• Participate in an on-call rotation (~once every two weeks) to ensure 24/7 uptime.
• Champion best practices in code quality, documentation, and system design.

What You Bring

• 5–7+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments.
• Proven track record building low-latency, high-throughput, real-time systems (trading, payments, or financial platforms preferred).
• Proficiency in Go and deep familiarity with AWS services (CloudFormation, Lambda, ECS, API Gateway).
• Strong experience with API design, lifecycle management, and authentication protocols such as OAuth 2.0 and JWT.
• Understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and modern architecture patterns.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex systems clearly.
• Comfort working in a startup or fast-paced environment, with strong ownership and adaptability.

Nice to Have

• Experience with trading systems, financial exchanges, or regulated fintech (KYC/KYB/AML).
• Familiarity with blockchain or on-chain custody integrations.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub profile showing end-to-end execution.
