Junior Developer

Summary:

Amwins is seeking a Junior Developer to join our Technology team. This role involves collaborating across functions, developing prototypes for insurance-related solutions, improving business processes, and performing operational data tasks to support career development in data science.

Responsibilities

• This role is ideal for candidates who are eager to grow their careers in data science while working on real-world insurance problems.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with a business analyst and insurance brokers to prototype mock-ups and solutions for insurance-related problems.
• Prototyping: Understand a problem and effectively demonstrate basic functionality and UI as a demo.
• Optimization of Business Processes: Collaborate in identifying and optimizing business processes through the application of data-driven solutions.
• Data Comprehension: Have an understanding of the data available and which datasets may be required for a given problem.
• Operational Assistance: Assist when required on data pre-processing and analysis to validate solutions and developing out solutions into production capacity

Required Technical Skills

• Proficiency with Python and core data science libraries (e.g. Pandas, NumPy).
• Proficiency with Git
• Working knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating data.
• Understanding of basic statistical and machine learning concepts (e.g., hypothesis testing, validation metrics).
• Understanding of basic data modeling, data cleansing, and data analysis techniques
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or related field.
