Business Data Analyst

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Maryland Heights, MO that is seeking a Business Data Analyst. Summary: The Business Data Analyst will serve as a strategic problem-solver, working directly with leadership to analyze and address ad hoc business challenges. This individual will be responsible for managing the full analysis process - from defining the business problem and identifying the necessary data to analyzing findings and presenting actionable insights. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and eager to dive into complex business questions to drive data-informed decisions. Responsibilities:

• Partner with executive and leadership stakeholders to understand and define business problems
• Determine what data is needed to evaluate the problem and identify where to source it (e.g., Jira, Excel, internal databases)
• Collect, validate, and integrate data from multiple sources to develop comprehensive analyses
• Challenge assumptions and refine the problem statement through data-driven reasoning
• Identify trends, patterns, and correlations within data sets that provide meaningful business insights
• Develop and present clear, compelling PowerPoint presentations that tell the story behind the data and support executive decision-making
• Manage ad hoc analysis requests and deliver high-quality insights in a timely manner
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate findings and influence strategy
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or a similar analytical role
• Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, charts, and formulas; macros/VBA a plus)
• Proficient in PowerPoint and experienced in creating data-driven presentations
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to challenge assumptions
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate findings effectively to senior stakeholders
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with financial data or within a finance-focused environment
• Exposure to Tableau or other data visualization tools
• Familiarity with Jira or project management data sources
• Understanding of key business metrics and performance indicators
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
