Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: £75,000 - £100,000 (DOE)
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and build data-driven back-end systems for financial analytics, trading, and risk management.
- Work with quants and product specialists to translate complex financial concepts into scalable, elegant software solutions.
- Develop and deploy cloud-native services on AWS, from APIs to event-driven microservices using Python (Django / FastAPI) and Rust.
- Model and manage structured financial data across asset classes using MySQL, MongoDB, and other modern data stores.
- Deliver code that’s reliable, observable, and performance-tuned for real-world financial workloads.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and continuous improvements that keep the platform fast, secure, and scalable.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience in back-end software engineering, ideally in a fintech, trading, or financial systems environment.
- Proficiency in Python or Rust
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.).
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
- Curiosity and a love of learning new technologies, whether that’s improving system performance, exploring distributed architectures, or adopting modern tools and frameworks.
Nice to Have
- Experience building systems for risk, pricing, or market data.
- Knowledge of FX or interest rate products.
- Familiarity with financial object models and how data flows through trading or risk pipelines.
Why Join
You’ll be part of a fast-moving engineering environment that values autonomy, craftsmanship, and collaboration. Expect interesting technical challenges, exposure to complex financial data, and the freedom to experiment with new ideas.
