The primary purpose of the position is to assist in the management and coordination of the construction projects/programs, including a suite of tasks associated with program development, design management, cost planning, tendering, estimating, contract services.
What You Will Be Doing
- Assisting with coordination and management of all aspects of building project implementation activities including pre-design, design, documentation, contract administration and post construction activities and assisting in taking responsibility for the quality and suitability of the building product delivered to the client.
- Coordinating the activities of other project staff, external consultants, building contractors, managers and other business units in the achievement of project objectives.
- Ensuring all projects are managed to achieve the client's scope, time, cost, cash flow, and quality requirements. This involves interacting with clients on a day-to-day basis.
- Ensuring individual project team members (external or internal) involved in the provision of pre-design, documentation, contract administration, and post construction services to clients are engaged, communicated with and coordinated effectively.
- Assisting in negotiations for consultants, local authorities, internal, departmental stakeholders, the client and contractors to ensure value for money solutions are identified and delivered.
- Utilising experience and professional knowledge to add value to discussions and ensure appropriate stakeholder management is undertaken.
- Controlling variances by generating exception reports on time and cost aspects of projects management and performing project audits to establish project team performance as appropriate.
- Providing assistance to the Principal Project Manager/Project Director.
- Ensuring all quality assurance procedures within the work area are followed.
- Proactively manage your work performance and personal conduct.
