We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Java Developer to strengthen the digital customer portal team. You will work on backend and frontend components that support online self-service features, dynamic forms, and customer-facing digital workflows. You will collaborate closely with analysts, architects, and developers in an Agile setup.
What You Will Do
- Develop, adapt, and integrate backend and frontend components based on functional and business analysis.
- Translate business requirements into high-quality code and application architecture.
- Participate in refinement sessions to ensure clear understanding of user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and ensure proper testing within an integrated Agile environment.
- Document code, components, patterns, and technical decisions.
- Analyse and evaluate the impact of changes across modules and systems.
- Identify issues early and propose optimal solutions.
- Collaborate with the team in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What are we looking for?
Education & Languages (hard requirements)
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- French speaker and fluent in English.
- Good knowledge of Dutch.
Backend (Java)
- Expert-level Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA.
- Strong experience building REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of OOP, Clean Code, SOLID principles.
- Testing expertise: JUnit, Mockito.
- Security fundamentals with OAuth2/OIDC (e.g. ForgeRock, Azure AD).
- Strong knowledge of Tomcat.
- Very good command of IntelliJ IDEA and Git.
- Good knowledge of Jira.
Frontend (React)
- Very strong experience with JavaScript and React.
- React with TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of CSS (including older/legacy CSS).
- Strong knowledge of HTML (including legacy templates).
General
- Ability to work with Agile methodology (Scrum / Kanban).
- Capable of story slicing, creating acceptance criteria, and delivering incrementally.
- Strong quality mindset and adherence to development best practices.
- Coaching mindset; able to support and guide team members.
