Medior IT/Functioneel Analist

You’ll play a central role in translating business needs into well-structured functional analyses, user stories, and test scenarios. You bridge business, analysts, and development teams, ensuring that requirements are understood, validated, and delivered with quality.

This role sits at the heart of a modernisation program that expands existing services with new digital workflows. It's highly collaborative, structured, and suited for analysts who enjoy working close to development and delivery.

What You Will Do

• Translate business needs into clear functional analyses for both frontend and backend applications.
• Document analyses and user stories in Jira with precise acceptance criteria.
• Present and validate analyses with business stakeholders and ensure alignment.
• Explain Jira items to development teams and support them during implementation.
• Lead internal validation sessions, walkthroughs, and analysis workshops.
• Define test scenarios, follow up automated tests, and execute functional tests on the INT environment.
• Support the development teams with functional clarification during sprints.
• Collaborate closely with project leaders, fellow analysts, business users, and management.
• Prepare and lead customer meetings, demos, and status updates.
• Monitor operational issues (Jira tickets, incoming requests) and follow up production surveys.
• Assist the project leader with planning, workload distribution, prioritisation, and progress reporting.
• Analyse change requests, perform impact assessments, and communicate efficiently with the project team.
  

What are we looking for?

Education & Languages

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Business Informatics, or equivalent experience.
• Fluent/native Dutch (mandatory).
  

Functional & Analytical Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Functional Analyst, including 2+ years in software development analysis (frontend + backend).
• Strong knowledge of analysis methodologies, processes, and best practices.
• Experience creating functional designs, user stories, acceptance criteria.
• Strong command of UML and BPMN.
• Experience with issue & project management tools (e.g., Jira).
• Experience with documentation / collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence).
  

Technical Understanding

(Not as a developer, but enough to work effectively with dev teams)

• Good understanding of SQL.
• Basic knowledge of Java, Git, SVN.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, continuous integration, TDD principles.
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with data exchange standards or integrations.
• Experience with governmental data exchange (e.g., KSZ).
• Familiarity with test automation pipelines.
