We’re looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Engineer / Modeller (freelancer) to join a leading manufacturing company in Brussels. You’ll help implement an enterprise-wide data warehouse blueprint and shape a modern, scalable data platform built on Data modelling principles.
This is a long-term freelance role within a dynamic, forward-thinking data team, driving the delivery of high-impact analytics solutions.
Logistics
- Position: Freelance Data Warehouse Engineer
- Duration: 12-month contract (with potential extension)
- Day Rate: Competitive
- Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)
- Start Date: Mid-November 2025
Core Responsibilities
- Implement prioritised business use cases based on the enterprise data warehouse blueprint.
- Develop and maintain a Data warehouse using certain cutting-edge automation tools.
- Write and optimise complex SQL queries for data processing and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to governance, quality, and security standards.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, and business stakeholders to bring the reference architecture to life.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data ingestion and transformation issues.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Warehouse Engineer / Modeller or similar.
- Strong Data Vault modelling and implementation skills.
- Advanced SQL proficiency (tuning, joins, window functions).
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT and data integration patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset; experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data modelling automation tools.
- Familiarity with GCP, CI/CD pipelines, and data governance frameworks.
- Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
