Interim Project Manager
(Ireland or UK based)
Specified purpose contract – Expected to end May 2026
What do we need?
For nearly 10 years, we’ve been bringing delicious, veg-forward frozen goodness to freezer aisles all over the world—and that takes some serious coordination, creativity, and drive.
We’re looking for a Project Manager who can bring ideas to life and make sure our new products and packaging rollouts land smoothly (and on time!) in markets around the globe. You’ll be the engine behind our innovation pipeline—keeping timelines tight, packaging aligned, and cross-functional teams marching to the same beat.
From managing product renovation and innovation stage-gate projects and packaging redesign roll out, to juggling suppliers, approvals, and launch timelines, you’ll be deep in the details and big on delivery. Reporting to our VP of Innovation, you’ll work hand-in-hand with our global teams across Marketing, Product, Packaging, Supply Chain, and Commercial to make sure every project we launch is a knockout—visually, commercially, and operationally.
It’s a sleeves-up, get-stuck-in kind of role—perfect for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, loves a good Gantt chart, and gets a buzz from seeing great ideas hit the shelves.
Who are we?
Strong Roots has achieved impressive success to date: we’re in pretty much all the major Ireland & UK retailers, where we’re much-loved by our loyal consumers, and have gained sizeable listings across the USA. Further afield, we’re in freezer aisles throughout France, Australia and numerous other countries, and have now entered the world of food service in Ireland and the UK! 💪
As a very proud member of the B Corp community, we’re here to deliver on our “Good Made Easy” promise by selling delicious, frozen plant-based food that’s designed for busy lives, and we’re on track to becoming a globally renowned brand. In April 2024, we were acquired in full by McCain Foods, in order to massively accelerate and scale this ambition. We’ll continue to operate as an independent business unit but are now supported by one of the world’s biggest and most impressive food brands. Nice!
We’re a multi-award-winning FMCG company who intends to stay that way. We’re at global scale-up stage, so you’ll play a crucial part in helping us to gain ground on a global level and increasing our sales by 10x in the next 5 years.
The Gang comprises 58 people, from 11 nationalities, across 3 international locations (Dublin HQ, London, New York), with more than half of our employees identifying as female (including at management and senior leadership level). We value and welcome diversity in all its forms (whether visible or invisible), so we’re most definitely an equal opportunities employer. Let us know if we can do anything to facilitate your application, selection, or employment experience. That B Corp status we mentioned? That proves that we look after our people and always have an eye on how to help you thrive and feel like you truly belong here.
What will you be doing?
This full-time, fixed term role can be based out of our core locations, with hybrid working and occasional travel as needed.
Here’s a flavour of what you’ll be doing:
- Leading the planning, coordination, and executing of global packaging design implementation—partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality across markets.
- Driving New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) projects through the stage-gate process, ensuring every milestone is met and critical path timings are adhered to in full.
- Supporting and delivering one-off packaging and innovation projects that help us stay fresh and ahead of the curve.
- Being the keeper of project timelines—creating, updating, and communicating plans that keep everyone aligned and accountable.
- Making sure every project meets internal governance, documentation, and approval standards—and helping us improve the way we do it next time.
- Building strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, ensuring everyone’s clear, connected, and moving in the same direction.
How will you stand out from the crowd?
That’s easy. It’s because you have:
- Proven experience leading packaging and/or NPD projects—ideally in FMCG or consumer goods.
- A strong grasp of packaging design, artwork management, and supply chain implications.
- Experience running projects through structured stage-gate processes.
- Excellent organisation, communication, and time management skills.
- A proactive mindset and ability to juggle competing priorities under pressure.
- Confidence working with cross-functional and multi-market teams.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a passion for food that does good and tastes great.
We take our culture VERY seriously, and you’ll contribute positively to it because it’s clear to everyone you’ve worked with that you’re an exemplar of our Winning Behaviours.
- We’re GOOD PEOPLE: Sound people being solid team-mates.
- Doing GOOD WORK: Winning performance driving lasting growth.
- FOR GOOD: Conscious behaviour ensuring positive impact.
What are we offering?
We get it: you’ve been working hard to make yourself a valuable asset, so we’re ready to treat you as such. You’ll receive a competitive salary package (which includes both annual and long-term incentive plans), but you’ll also enjoy a range of benefits that includes 23 days’ annual leave, matched pension contribution, £€1,000 Wellness Wonga, £€1,000 contribution to private health insurance, 12 weeks full maternity pay, 2 weeks paid paternity leave, matched charity donations, and more (“Like what?”, you ask? How about a paid half-day every Friday in June, July, and August!?).
On top of all that, you’ll be part of something big that’s going to get a lot bigger, FAST.
Still reading? Feeling excited? Good! You might be the perfect fit. Let’s do this, together. 💪🌱❄
