This role reports to: Head of Logistics (m/w/d)
Type of job: 100% full-time (unlimited employment contract)
Job responsibilities:
- Support the development and ensure the full operationalization of an end-to-end strategy for establishing a fully automated ("zero-touch") logistics and warehouse infrastructure.
- Lead end-to-end intralogistics projects, from concept to go-live, ensuring integration with Smart Factory systems.
- Define functional, technical, and operational requirements for automation, IT, and system partners.
- Oversee system architecture between ERP/EWM ↔ WCS/MFS ↔ PLC/OT, ensuring data integrity, cybersecurity, and IT/OT convergence.
- Develop and implement logistics KPIs (throughput, accuracy, OTIF, MTBF/MTTR, dock-to-stock).
- Design and validate material flow, layout, and capacity models using simulations and performance data.
- Specify and standardize load carriers, packaging, and identification systems (barcode, RFID, ID).
- Evaluate and implement automation technologies (AMR/AGV, AS/RS, goods-to-person, robotics, conveyors).
- Manage CAPEX/OPEX analyses and supplier evaluations (RFQ/RFP).
- Ensure compliance with Swiss standards (SUVA/EKAS, VKF, SIA, StFV, ESTI) and integrate into construction planning.
- Prepare and review technical specifications, integration plans, and interface requirements.
- Oversee testing (FAT/SAT/UAT), commissioning, go-live, and ramp-up activities.
- Establish requirements management across departments (Production, IT, Quality, SCM) and ensure traceability from design to acceptance.
- Education backround in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in automation projects, ideally in intralogistics or smart manufacturing environments.
- Proven track record in implementing and scaling AMRs, AS/RS, or robotic systems
- Experience in managing cross-functional project teams and external vendors
- Background in consulting (in-house or external) with a focus on operational excellence, automation, or digital transformation is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Smart Factory and Industry 4.0 technologies
- Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen certification or experience
- Knowledge of PLC programming, industrial communication protocols, and robotics integration
- Familiarity with warehouse automation technologies and AI-driven solutions
- Understanding of system interfaces between automation and IT (e.g., WMS, MES)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Fluent in German and good English
