Senior Project Manager
(Commercial Workplace Design & Build)

With a close-knit team of passionate designers, project managers, and technical experts, they partner with a wide range of clients – from dynamic start-ups to major commercial brands – to create inspiring, functional workspaces.
Role Overview
As a Senior Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for leading and delivering commercial interior fit-out and refurbishment projects across the UK. You’ll oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, from client briefing and pre-construction planning through to on-site delivery and handover.
This is a client-facing role that demands a hands-on approach, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders. Working within a smaller studio environment means you’ll have direct influence over project decisions and enjoy close collaboration with the design and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Project Leadership
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and ensuring exceptional service throughout the project.
- Lead client briefings, presentations, and progress meetings with confidence and professionalism.
- Translate client objectives into clear project scopes, timelines, and deliverables.
- Manage stakeholder communication, ensuring transparency and alignment at every stage.
Pre-Construction & Planning
- Lead pre-construction activities including scoping, budgeting, and programme planning.
- Prepare and manage tender packages, appoint subcontractors, and negotiate commercial terms.
- Develop detailed project programmes and risk assessments.
- Ensure all statutory requirements and Health & Safety standards are met.
- Liaise closely with the design team to ensure design intent aligns with budget and buildability.
Delivery & Site Management
- Oversee day-to-day delivery of multiple fit-out projects, typically ranging from £250k–£2m.
- Manage contractors, suppliers, and consultants to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality.
- Conduct regular site visits, chair progress meetings, and issue project reports.
- Anticipate and resolve site issues promptly to maintain programme and quality.
Manage snagging, commissioning, and client handovers.
Commercial & Financial Control
- Take ownership of project budgets, including cost forecasting, variation management, and cash flow tracking.
- Ensure financial reporting is accurate and aligned with company objectives.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships and ensure commercial efficiency across all projects.
Team Collaboration & Mentoring
- Work closely with design and technical teams to ensure seamless project coordination.
- Support junior team members, sharing knowledge and fostering professional development.
- Contribute to internal process improvements and uphold best practice standards across project delivery.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in project management within commercial interiors, fit-out, or refurbishment.
- Proven ability to deliver projects independently, from concept to completion.
- Solid understanding of UK construction processes, contracts, and compliance.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
- Experience managing budgets and programmes for projects between £250k and £2m+.
- Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and Health & Safety standards.
- Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline preferred.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites as required.
