DevOps Engineer

• Up to $1150 per day inclusive of super, 12 month contract with extensions

• Must be Australian citizen with NV1 clearance

Based in Canberra, we are a major federal program delivering high resilience cloud and platform capability across protected environments. We are seeking to appoint a skilled DevOps Engineer with strong automation and AWS experience to join our specialised team. Operating at national scale, we design and maintain secure, resilient and cost efficient platforms that support mission critical operations across the defence sector.

We are a rapidly expanding federal program with long term investment and multi year delivery. Our team includes platform engineers, DevOps specialists, cloud architects and cyber professionals working across protected environments. Our work underpins secure platforms, mission systems and national capability. We design and deliver cloud enabled, highly automated solutions that consolidate and strengthen essential services across defence.

We are now looking to appoint an experienced DevOps Engineer with deep AWS and automation capability to join our high performing team.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As a key part of our DevOps and cloud engineering function, you will drive automation, uplift platform maturity and enable secure, scalable operations across protected environments. You will collaborate with architects, cyber specialists and engineering teams to streamline workflows, embed infrastructure as code practices and enhance platform reliability.

You will identify automation opportunities across pipelines and platforms, implement and maintain IaC using Terraform, run scripted testing across systems and networks, validate automated processes, and enhance CI CD capability. You will also oversee secure cloud environments and contribute to the hardening and resilience of defence grade systems.

WE NEED YOU TO HAVE…..

• AWS / Terraform / CI CD / automation

• Strong proficiency across the SDLC

• Experience in secure or regulated environments

• Excellent communication and problem solving capability

• Drive to uplift processes, tooling and platform maturity

IT IS NICE TO HAVE…..

• Defence sector experience

• Exposure to high resilience or mission critical platforms

• Broader experience across automation, security or cloud tooling
