Intrinzic are proud to be partnering exclusively with a well-established Australian firm recognised for its delivery of high-performance and mission-critical infrastructure across the country.

We’re looking for a Network Engineer who loves getting hands-on, solving problems, and driving real impact by helping modernise and secure a large-scale, complex enterprise network and Linux infrastructure that supports mission-critical operations across Australia. This role involves day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, system maintenance, and participation in network transformation initiatives to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable connectivity across the business.

You’ll be joining a growing technology team that’s taking greater ownership of the company’s infrastructure as it scales. This is a key role — you’ll help build out capability, bring ideas to life, and grow with the business as it continues to invest in its technology foundations.

Given the nature of the work, Australian Citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain NV1 Security Clearance (sponsored by the company). Candidates who already hold an active clearance will be highly regarded. This role also requires you to be on site 4 days a week in their North Sydney office.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting and maintaining the organisation’s enterprise network across multiple sites, including core switches, routers, firewalls, SD-WAN, and load balancing infrastructure.
  • Working at Level 2/3 support and fault rectification for network incidents, driving stability and reliability.
  • Participating in network transformation projects: modernising architecture, migrating to hybrid/cloud connectivity, optimising performance and security.
  • Monitoring network health, performing trend analysis, tuning network systems, and identifying improvements.
  • Contributing to documentation, knowledge-sharing, and mentoring within the technical team.
  • Managing change, incident, and problem-management practices, including stakeholder communication and vendor engagement.
  • Acting proactively: not just “fixing things,” but identifying root causes, mitigating risks, leading enhancements, and strengthening the network.
  • Participating in the on-call roster and supporting disaster recovery and business continuity activities as required.

What We’re Looking For - Essential

  • 5+ years’ experience in network operations and support within a large or complex environment.
  • 2 years’ experience managing Linux systems, including patching and overall management.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
  • Hands-on experience with key networking technologies such as Cisco Routing, Switching, Wireless & Security.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Strong understanding of network security standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrated focus on service quality and delivery outcomes.
  • Strong communicator with solid stakeholder-management skills and a service mindset.
  • Australian Citizenship, with the ability to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance (company sponsored).

Preferred

  • Azure Virtual Network design and management.
  • Understanding of infrastructure architecture principles and practices.

Why You Should Apply

  • A dynamic permanent role with real ownership of your domain.
  • A company that values initiative, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Up to $180,000 base + super
  • North Sydney office location

If you are an Australian Citizen, hold an active security clearance, and are looking for your next opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
