The role of data analyst in the Model Activate & Analytics team within the Pricing & Analytics Department is to provide modelling outcomes and financial advice to Consumer Insurance business line. This position supports the Pricing & Analytics team's purpose of improve product profitability and strengthen financial control across the consumer general insurance products.
What You'll Do
- Pricing Strategy Development: Work with the Pricing Leader to design, recommend, and implement pricing solutions that support financial and strategic objectives across Consumer Insurance products.
- Data Extraction & Insight Generation: Extract, clean, and manipulate data from multiple systems to draw insights that inform business decisions.
- Model Development & Enhancement: Utilise internal modelling platforms to build, monitor, and refine statistical and machine learning models aimed at improving risk selection and underwriting performance.
- Deliver Business Solution: Convert analytical outputs into value-adding recommendations that drive business objectives.
- Business Communication: Present technical concepts and modelling results in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, Actuarial, Statistics, Finance etc.
- Experience with general insurance pricing or data analytical related fields of work is desirable.
- Previous experience working within an analytical role and/or using SAS, R, Python, SQL.
- Experience is Earnix is highly valued.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience within complex analytics and modelling projects, and ability to apply analytical thinking to solve complex problems.
- Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Ability to summarise and document modelling assumptions, methodologies and outcomes.
