Core Data’s range of solutions spans the full breadth of marketing science and data analytics, enabling clients to make incremental improvements to how their investment is deployed. In addition, Core Data have developed Core 161, a marketing data platform that empowers better decision making by providing clients with transparency on the performance of their marketing investments.
Core Data are now recruiting a Marketing Data Analyst whose key role will be to develop and deliver client-solutions using the Core 161 marketing data platform, while also collaborating with our team of Data Scientists to help our clients analyse their data and make better, data-driven decisions.
Marketing Data Analytics is a broad role, and we are looking for individuals with a broad mix of skills across the marketing domain:
Marketing Knowledge:
As the key part of your role will be analysing marketing data to inform business decisions you will be expected to have a broad understanding of marketing and in particular media campaigns. You may have in-depth know of specific areas of marketing, such as social or programmatic and an experience with building reports in these areas is an advantage for applicants.
Client Service:
You’ll put client service at the heart of everything you do and ensure we understand our clients’ challenges and needs, and our service and solutions meet and exceed client’s expectations. You will have excellent communication and presentation skills, which you will apply when engaging with the client to understand their business requirements or presenting your designs and solutions.
Dashboard Design Data Visualisation:
You will be able to create clear, intuitive dashboards and reports and group and present information in a concise yet impactful way. You’ll have experience of creating graphs and reports in Excel but may also be familiar with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, PowerBI or Google Data Studio. Your roll will involve building dashboards using a similar tool.
Data Scripting:
You’ll have in-depth experience in Microsoft Excel and be comfortable with advanced formulas (e.g. use of INDEX, MATCH, VLOOKUPs, macros). If you don’t have them already, you’ll definitely have an interest in developing more formal coding skills; you will get training and be expected to develop fundamental programming skills such as being able to manipulate data types and structures using a programming language not unlike Excel Macros; it will also help if you have experience with SQL (a Database query language) queries and understand of how to best design data tables and structures. If you don’t have these specific skills, you’ll be supported in developing them as you take on this role.
Data Pipeline Implementation:
While part of your role will be to develop new customised dashboards, a key part of your role will be to onboard new clients onto our standard reporting suite; this will involve consulting with Client Teams to understand how they want to structure their reports and following a standard set of processes and to enable data feeds, apply data transformations and enable dashboards.
Service Desk and Operational Management of Data Pipeline and Reports:
Your role will involve monitoring live data feeds and dashboards for any production issues and responding to service desk queries and requests for changes. You will triage these queries for handling by the team and as your experience builds in some cases you’ll be expected to analyse and troubleshoot these queries directly.
Data Analysis and Training:
Your role will require you to analyse data for dashboards that you have developed and train end-users in how to interpret and base decisions on your dashboard. You’ll also develop an understanding of where more in-depth analysis is requires and be able to brief work into our team of Data Scientists for more advance analysis.
Collaboration:
To be effective in your role you will need to build relationships and seek out and collaborate with wide group of stakeholders and subject matter experts across Core; you will support Client Teams in the design of new processes and solutions and be able to incorporate feedback their into the Data Practices design and development of solutions.
Your profile
Qualifications and Experience:
Ideal candidates will have experience working in a marketing-specific role within agency or advertiser/commercial marketing teams for 2 years+ and will have experience of reporting and analysing marketing data.
You may have a 3rd level qualification (Professional Certificate or Degree) in a related area, e.g. Data Analytics, Marketing.
You may also have completed Marketing Analytics or Data and Programming courses and certifications on online learning platforms like Udemy, Coursera, edx or Udacity.
