About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Analyst to join our growing team in The Netherlands. As part of an international bank with a strong European presence, you will support the execution of M&A transactions, capital markets mandates, and strategic advisory projects for corporate, financial sponsor, and institutional clients. This role offers significant deal exposure, responsibility from day one, and the opportunity to develop within a high-performing, international environment.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Execution & Analysis

  • Support the execution of M&A and strategic advisory mandates across multiple sectors.
  • Perform detailed company valuations using DCF, LBO, merger models, trading comparables, and transaction comparables.
  • Conduct financial modelling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing.
  • Assist in preparing investment materials including information memoranda, management presentations, pitch books, and board materials.

Industry & Market Research

  • Perform deep industry, market, and competitive analyses to support transaction ideas and client pitches.
  • Track market activity, financial news, capital markets developments, and relevant regulatory updates.

Client Support & Relationship Management

  • Support senior bankers in developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Prepare high-quality materials for client meetings (presentations, market updates, strategic reviews).
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (legal, risk, compliance, sector teams) to facilitate seamless deal execution.

Project Management

  • Help manage due diligence processes alongside clients and external advisors (legal, tax, consultants).
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and interdepartmental communication.
  • Ensure accurate and timely internal reporting, documentation, and process control.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field with strong academic results.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and client focus.

Experience

  • Previous internships in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, consulting, or related fields are highly valued.
