The Role
They are hiring a Software Engineer to take ownership of the data platform that powers their AI products. This role sits at the heart of the engineering organisation: designing a world-class Databricks/dbt setup, shaping technical strategy, and building the systems that every other team depends on.
It’s ideal for someone who enjoys mixing backend engineering with high-impact data platform work and wants influence, autonomy, and room to build things properly.
You’ll Be:
- Setting the direction and architecture of the Databricks environment.
- Building robust pipelines and data foundations with Python, Spark, SQL and dbt.
- Creating the tooling, automation, and documentation that accelerate the entire engineering team.
- Contributing to core backend platform services written in Golang and gRPC.
- Defining best practices in data modelling, testing, and CI/CD across the company.
- Mentoring engineers and driving technical decisions that shape the platform’s future.
- Developing secure cloud modules for enterprise customers to access their data safely.
You’ll Bring:
- 4+ years of experience building and operating production-grade systems.
- Strong background in data engineering or backend development, with interest in both.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks or Snowflake.
- Strong Python and/or Golang skills.
- Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring teammates is a plus.
- Familiarity with AWS and modern data tooling.
