Senior Solar Project Manager – Romania (Hybrid + Site Travel)
A well-established international energy group is seeking a hands-on Senior Solar Project Manager to oversee the execution of utility-scale solar PV projects across Romania. The current portfolio includes seven active projects: four scheduled for completion by the end of 2025, three by mid-2026, and one flagship project launching in September 2025.
This role involves end-to-end project management — from site establishment to final delivery — with active coordination across EPC contractors, utility companies, and key local stakeholders. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a solid understanding of solar construction and permitting frameworks, and a strong track record managing renewable infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead PV plant development from site setup to final completion, acting as the interface between project stakeholders.
- Oversee construction, ensuring all work aligns with engineering updates, designs, and quality standards.
- Manage project budgets, cash flow, and logistics for all materials and construction-related activities.
- Liaise with utility providers to secure and implement grid connections.
- Monitor and enforce quality assurance and timely delivery throughout the construction process.
- Build and maintain relationships with landowners, EPC contractors, authorities, and other local stakeholders.
- Track project milestones, identify critical risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and permitting processes.
- Deliver regular progress updates and reports to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline
- Minimum 3 years of project management experience in the solar or renewable energy sector
- Electrical license or background in HV substations or solar electrical systems (a strong plus)
- In-depth knowledge of PV regulatory codes, permitting processes, and the National Electrical Code
- Strong leadership, organisational, and analytical skills
- Fluent in Romanian and English
- Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated
- Willingness to travel frequently to project sites — regular on-site presence is mandatory
- Occasional presence required at the company’s Bucharest office
Location:
Eastern or Central Romania
Work Model: Hybrid or remote, with weekly site visits and periodic office presence
