Mission of the Role

To lead and manage end-to-end Sea Freight operations for TruKKer / Omnilog in the EU region, ensuring service excellence, regulatory compliance, and profitable growth. The role focuses on operational control, vendor coordination, documentation accuracy, and process optimization to deliver seamless ocean freight services across import, export, and cross-trade movements.


Key Responsibilities:-

End-to-End Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day sea freight operations including booking, documentation, customs coordination, container movement, and shipment tracking for both FCL and LCL cargo.

Carrier & Partner Coordination

  • Maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, NVOCCs, agents, and terminal operators to secure capacity, negotiate rates, and ensure smooth vessel operations.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Act as the primary operational point of contact for customers; ensure proactive communication, on-time delivery, and resolution of escalations.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Supervise issuance and verification of Bills of Lading, manifests, shipping instructions, and customs documentation, ensuring 100 % accuracy and adherence to local and international trade regulations.

Operational SOPs & Quality Standards

  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to standardize processes, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency across offices and partners.

Performance & KPI Monitoring

  • Track and analyse operational KPIs — on-time shipment execution, documentation turnaround time, demurrage / detention, and cost-to-serve. Drive improvement initiatives where required.

Process Automation & Systems Utilization

  • Work closely with the Tech & Product teams to leverage ERP / TMS systems for tracking, reporting, and automation of repetitive tasks.

Financial & Cost Control

  • Ensure accurate billing, vendor invoicing, and cost validation for every shipment; support finance in margin analysis and dispute resolution.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Manage and develop the Sea Freight operations team; conduct regular training on documentation, customer handling, and compliance requirements.

Regulatory & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to all customs, port, and maritime regulations (EU, GCC, IMO). Maintain updated licenses, permits, and certifications relevant to sea freight activities.


Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

  • 2–4 years of proven experience in sea freight operations within a freight-forwarding or logistics company.
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role managing import, export, or cross-trade shipments.
  • Strong exposure to EU / GCC maritime logistics and global carrier management.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience. Preferably with a minimum of 2 years of import/export operations/documentation experience in international shipping (Forwarder) companies.


Language Skills

  • English – Upper-Intermediate
  • Turkish
