Role Overview

This role reinforces the organization’s frontline defense posture by supporting continuous threat monitoring, first-level incident response, and endpoint protection across hybrid environments. The analyst accelerates operational resilience by driving early detection and ensuring cyber hygiene across user endpoints and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Threat Monitoring and Analysis

• Monitor alerts from SIEM and endpoint security platforms to identify suspicious activity
• Perform first-level triage for malware detections and abnormal system behavior
• Correlate basic threat intelligence indicators to support investigations

Incident Response and Containment

• Execute initial containment actions for low to moderate severity incidents
• Document investigation notes and escalate complex cases to senior engineers
• Support incident lifecycle closure with post-event reporting

Vulnerability and Risk Management

• Assist in vulnerability scans and highlight gaps requiring remediation
• Work with operations teams to support patch cycles and compliance checks

Security Engineering Support

• Maintain endpoint protection controls including antivirus, EDR, and device-compliance settings
• Support configuration hygiene and policy updates for security tools

Governance and Documentation

• Maintain security logs, runbooks, and asset-tracking records
• Support awareness initiatives and provide basic advisory on safe digital practices

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
• 0 to 2 years of experience in security operations or IT support
• Foundational understanding of cyber threats, malware, and attack vectors
• Familiarity with SIEM, antivirus, EDR, or vulnerability-scanning tools
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Team-oriented with good communication skills
• Certifications such as Security Plus, CCNA, or CEH will be advantageous
