Position/Job Title: Unity Developer
Status: Full Time
Location: Remote or Virginia Beach
Start date: ASAP

Travel: 10-20% CONUS Travel
Background: Vectrona is developing cutting-edge AI/ML-based modeling & simulation systems, serious games, and 3D data visualization solutions to help warfighters train and operate. We require a skilled Unity Developer to support development, deployment, and operation of our training systems. The Unity Developer will work with the software development team in the creation of multiple software projects to ensure program objectives are accomplished.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior developers and subject matter experts to understand requirements and design specifications.
- Implement game mechanics, user interfaces, and interactive features from software architecture documents using .NET and Unity.
- Integrate with backend systems, to manage user data, progress tracking, and analytics.
- Integrate multimedia assets, including 3D models, animations, and audio, into the game environment.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following established coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with QA testers to identify and fix bugs, performance issues, and other technical problems.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development processes and techniques.
Preferred Education/Degree:
- BS in computer science, computer engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in C# programming language and .NET framework.
- Proficiency with Unity engine.
- Experience with version control platforms.
- Experience with game assets (meshes, animations, materials, audio).
- Experience in organizing or conducting in game Jams or similar collaborative projects, or personal projects.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, motivation to maintain and improve development standards.
- Ability to succeed in dynamic and demanding environment.
- Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with speech recognition engines and natural language processing.
- Experience with Azure cloud services including data storage, data retrieval, authentication of users, and machine learning services.
- Fundamental understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
- Experience with serious game simulations
- Knowledge of military operations including Command & Control and Air Operations
